HOW IT PLAYS.
Matriarch must be Ritual Summoned, with Throne of the Archfiends named as its Ritual Spell. Its summon can sweep opposing Spells/Traps; in the Extra Monster Zone, it can also banish opposing graveyard backrow and is unaffected by other monster effects. As a Pendulum card, it can destroy itself to recover Archfiend backrow from your graveyard or banishment. Both activated effects are once per turn.
